A Greek Cypriot man apprehended in March with narcotics has been sentenced to two years in prison by a tribunal operating in the occupied territories, as reported by T/C media outlets.

According to details presented in the "court" and detailed in a Kibrispostasi report, the Greek Cypriot was found to have transported a total of 983 grams of drugs into the occupied territories. Notably, the sentence took into consideration his youth and lack of previous criminal records.

Dramatic pursuit leads to apprehension

On March 25, 2023, the Greek Cypriot driver managed to evade apprehension by the occupied "police," resulting in a collision with their vehicle. Subsequently, he fled the scene as "police" personnel discharged warning shots into the air before targeting the left tire of the fleeing vehicle. The young Cypriot was later located at a petrol station, where he resisted arrest before being taken into custody.

Upon inspecting his vehicle, authorities discovered 983 grams of cannabis, leading to his subsequent conviction.
