Larnaca police stormed into the home of a 48-year-old who has troubled police in the past, finding a stash of weapons including one Kalashnikov machine gun, two revolvers, one pistol, and a number of bullets.
According to the police, who raided the man’s Larnaca home just after 11am on Thursday after securing a court order, the weapons were ready for use.
The 48-year-old placed under arrest and detained, with his remand hearing expected to take place on Friday.
Specialized tests will be conducted on the weapons to determine whether they were used in any criminal acts.
