Maximum highs are expected to reach 41 degrees inland on Wednesday, prompting weather officials to issue a yellow warning.
A warm front continues to affect areas over Cyprus on Wednesday, with mostly clear skies but also high clouds in the afternoon. A yellow warning was scheduled to go into effect from 11am through 4pm, with officials citing 40-degree weather inland.
Maximum high temperatures are expected to reach 41° Celsius inland, around 36 in the eastern and southern parts of the island, and 30 in all other coastal regions as well as up in the mountains.
Moderate dust to clear out by Friday
Dust in the atmosphere is also expected to be elevated but not above moderate levels, while weather officials say it should clear out by Friday.
Evening skies will be mostly clear with passing high clouds. Lows will register 22 degrees inland, in the south and east, and around 20 in the north and west as well as up in the mountains.
Saturday highs drop but still above normal
Temperatures will not change for Thursday or Friday, as highs will remain considerably above normal averages.
A slight drop is expected on Saturday but temperatures will still remain above normal averages for this time of the year.
