Larnaca: Migrant sets himself on fire after being denied asylum

A grave incident transpired on the morning of Wednesday, October 18, when a 24-year-old foreign national, having been denied asylum, doused himself with gasoline and set himself on fire outside the Immigration and Asylum Service in Larnaca.

The individual sustained severe burns and was swiftly transported to Larnaca General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

It's worth noting that law enforcement officers present at the scene managed to extinguish the flames.

This disturbing event unfolded following the rejection of the asylum application of the individual.
