An entire residential building in Limassol had to be evacuated on Thursday following a fire that broke out in one of the apartments, while another fireplace fire was reported in Paphos.
According to local reports, a fire broke out in a Limassol apartment in the Kolossi area on Thursday evening, around 7:30pm. Fire fighters who rushed to the scene, managed to put the fire out on the first floor while they found nobody inside the flat according to initial reports.
The fire destroyed the apartment entirely while three other flats were affected as well. Reports also said that the entire building was evacuated for safety reasons, while the cause of fire is still under investigation.
Later in the evening, another fire was reported in Paphos around 9:30pm, which started from the home’s fireplace and spread to outdoor sheds.
Fire fighters managed to put out the fire with only minor damages inside the residence.
