A 34-year-old mother in Paphos is accusing her ex boyfriend of false imprisonment, following her ordeal when she was locked with her young child for two days in his home.
The woman, described as a Greek Cypriot from Paphos, got a call from her former boyfriend, also Greek Cypriot, who was urging her to get back together.
He asked her to visit him at his place, according to the complaint filed with police, and she went along with her underage child.

But she had a chance to escape at a moment when he left the residence, at which time mother and child went straight to the police station.
Police issued a warrant for the man’s arrest, also aged 34, on suspicion of false imprisonment.
False imprisonment occurs when someone confines or detains another person against their will and without any legal justification. The act does not need to be done forcibly or through intimidation.
