According to reports, medical specialists contracted with the GESY have been allegedly demanding a €25 fee from patients seeking expedited appointments, which the Ministry of Health states is "clearly illegal." If the complaints are valid, appropriate measures will be taken, the ministry added.
In response to these reports, Health Minister Popi Kanari has written a letter to the Chairman of the Health Insurance Organization (OAI), Stavros Michael, requesting an investigation into the matter.
