Weather officials have issued a heat warning for the mountains on Monday, while temperatures in other parts of the interior are expected to climb once again over 40 degrees Celsius starting on Tuesday.
A warm air mass and high humidity levels are affecting areas over Cyprus on Monday, with temperatures expected to rise over 40 the following day and remain above normal averages throughout the workweek.
A yellow warning has been issued for the mountains effective Monday afternoon from 1pm to 5pm
Monday skies will be mostly clear with weak to moderate winds throughout the day, while sea conditions will range between calm and relatively calm.
Weather officials have issued a yellow warning for the mountains, effective Monday afternoon from 1pm to 5pm, where temperature highs are expected to reach 32 degrees at the highest peaks.
After several days of inland temperatures elsewhere reaching well above 40 in the interior, Monday levels will reach maximum 39 degrees inland, around 33 in the east and northeast, and 32 in all other coastal regions.
Evening weather will be mostly clear with temperature lows registering in the low to mid 20’s.
A possible yellow warning over the whole island has not been ruled out for Tuesday or in the coming days.
