Press Release

As part of its policy and initiatives to transition to a more modern digital school system and enhance services for better management of processes in public schools, the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth (MESY) announces the launch of the Education and Training e-Governance Project (eDEA).

The eDEA project is one of the largest e-governance initiatives in the field of education, implemented under the Cohesion Policy Program "THALEIA 2021-2027." It is co-financed by the European Union (EU) and carried out in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy.

Following the successful pilot implementation of online registrations in three high schools in June 2024, the project is now being expanded to all public primary schools in Cyprus. For the first time, all student registrations and transfers to Grade 1 of primary school will be conducted exclusively through the eDEA online portal.

Specifically, for Grade 1 student registration, parents/guardians must create an account on the CY Login platform by January 6, 2025. Afterward, they should access the eDEA portal to set up their profile in the electronic registration system. Registrations will take place online via the eDEA portal from January 7 to 19, 2025. Transfers will also be managed online through the portal from January 23 to 26, 2025. Additionally, at a later stage, the portal will facilitate registrations and transfers for Grade 1 students entering middle and high schools for the 2025–2026 academic year. Parents/guardians with children entering Grade 1 of middle or high school are encouraged to create a CY Login account in preparation.

This initiative marks another significant step towards modernizing education, ensuring transparency, simplifying procedures, and improving services for parents and students.

For more information, interested parties can visit the Ministry’s website or contact the eDEA Helpdesk at 22 558618.
