A passenger was arrested at an Australian airport after exiting a parked aircraft through the emergency exit, a story that has quickly gained international attention.
Video footage taken by fellow passengers on the Jetstar flight shows the man immediately surrounded by security personnel and resisting arrest. An eyewitness reported the passenger exhibited "odd" behavior during the flight, causing alarm among others on board when the unusual incident occurred.

A Jetstar spokesperson confirmed that the plane was parked at the airport gate when the man opened the emergency exit, automatically deploying the slide. "We can confirm that a passenger opened the emergency exit door after arriving in Melbourne, which triggered the slide," the spokesperson said.
