A bizarre incident that took place at a Nicosia high school in late October, involving a student distributing money to his classmates, has captured public attention and is keeping police authorities busy as they investigate the source of the money.
The minor, who was found with €15,000 at a Strovolos high school, claimed to the authorities that he had received the money from his brother, who also attends the same school.
It is important to note that the school principal informed the police about the incident after receiving reports from concerned parents. Some of the parents revealed that their children had received large sums in €50 and €100 banknotes.
According to 24 News, the family in question is foreign, and the parents claim to be unaware of the origin of the money.
Regarding the money, the authorities are examining its authenticity. Sources suggest that the likelihood of the notes being counterfeit is remote.
The case is under investigation, with the primary focus, as mentioned earlier, being to determine the intended destination of the money.
