Police rake in €3.3 million in fines

Nationwide crackdown yields millions as police execute nearly 19,000 fine warrants

In a recent statement, the Police revealed that from the start of the year until now, they have executed a staggering 18,791 fine warrants across the country. Remarkably, these efforts have resulted in the collection of €3,293,685 in fines.

Highlighting their ongoing commitment to enforcing the law, the Police detailed the success of a recent campaign led by the Warrant Execution Unit of the Nicosia Police Directorate. During this operation held last Monday, a notable total of 177 fine warrants were executed, yielding a significant sum of over €95,400.

The warrants executed cover a diverse range of debts, including those related to traffic violations, criminal offenses, social security, town hall dues, alimony, and private criminal cases, as outlined in the statement.
