A Turkish taxi driver who was accused of selling guns in the free areas of Cyprus was arrested by the police on Tuesday (27/02) in the province of Famagusta.
The police said they had information that he was doing this, and they were trying to find out who he was selling to.
On Wednesday (28/02), they tested the gun that they found in his car. The 34-year-old Turkish man was taken to the court in Famagusta in the morning.
The police said they stopped his car on a road in Famagusta around 12:00 on Tuesday, after they got some information about him.
They searched his car and found a gun hidden inside. They took the gun and arrested him.
He was charged with having and carrying a gun illegally, and he was kept in jail to help the investigation.
The police in Famagusta are looking into the case.
