In a significant diplomatic move, President Nikos Christodoulides of the Republic of Cyprus met with Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha during his official visit to Qatar.
The day commenced with a grand reception at the Palace, marked by military honors and the playing of national anthems. The leaders engaged in one-on-one discussions followed by extended talks between their respective delegations.
Key topics on the table included the Republic of Cyprus' initiative to establish a humanitarian aid sea corridor to Gaza, developments in the Middle East, the ongoing Cyprus problem, bilateral relations, and discussions on energy and investment matters.
Later in the day, President Christodoulides was honored with a lunch hosted by Emir Tamim.
Prior to this meeting, President Christodoulides held discussions with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The visit also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Technology at the Ministry of Education in Doha.
Accompanying President Christodoulides on this diplomatic mission are Deputy Minister Irene Piki, Ambassador Nicholas Manolis, Director of the Diplomatic Office Marilena Raouna, and Deputy Government Spokesman Yiannis Antoniou.
