In a court session at 11:30 on Friday morning (10/11), the third person apprehended in connection with the brutal murder of Thanasis Kalogeropoulos faced the Limassol District Court. The 22-year-old Greek Cypriot, residing in Larnaca, was arrested on Thursday night (09/11) based on a court warrant following incriminating testimony. The court ruled for his eight-day detention to aid ongoing police investigations.
The courthouse was surrounded by a significant police presence, and tension mounted as friends and relatives of Kalogeropoulos gathered outside. Notably, the arrested individual is not the passenger of the motorcycle used by the assailants in Kalogeropoulos's escape. The testimony leading to his arrest pertains to another individual, a 21-year-old who is currently wanted by authorities.
In connection to the same case, two additional suspects are under eight-day detention. This includes the 41-year-old motorcycle driver and the alleged assailant, a 55-year-old, as well as a 44-year-old individual who provided accommodation to the 41-year-old at his residence.
