Passengers at Larnaka Airport can now ease their travel jitters with a furry twist, thanks to a new initiative by Hermes Airports that brings specially trained dogs into the Departure Gates area.
The "Preboarding Zen Mode" program, launched after weeks of preparation, introduces a canine cuddle session to the airport experience. For the next three months, once a week for a two-hour session, travelers can meet and pet these well-trained dogs, helping to calm pre-flight nerves. This initiative not only aims to comfort passengers but also promotes dog adoption from local shelters.
''...many passengers...wanted to pet Triggle, a friendly, stray German shepherd. Our goal is to offer passengers a unique and positive experience while encouraging the adoption of dogs."
"We are thrilled to present the ‘Preboarding Zen Mode’ program at Larnaka Airport," said Maria Kouroupi, Director of Aviation Development, Marketing, and Communication at Hermes Airports. "Since its launch, it has attracted many passengers eager to pet Triggle, a friendly, stray German shepherd. Our goal is to offer passengers a unique and positive experience while encouraging the adoption of dogs."
The dogs, trained to handle the bustling airport environment, are accompanied by trainers to ensure safe interactions. This program is part of Hermes Airports' sustainability strategy and social responsibility efforts, aiming to create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere at the airport.
So, if you find yourself passing through Larnaka Airport in the coming months, don’t be surprised to see some wagging tails and furry friends ready to offer you a comforting cuddle before you board your flight.
