Best-Selling Author Calum Chace to Speak at Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit 2024

Renowned author and global speaker Calum Chace will be a keynote speaker at the Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit 2024, set to take place on October 9 at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.

Press Release

Calum Chace is a leading voice on artificial intelligence, focusing on its impact on society, economies, and our everyday lives. His work explores both the medium and long-term implications of AI. He has authored several acclaimed non-fiction books on the subject, including “The Economic Singularity”, which examines the potential for widespread technological unemployment, and “Surviving AI”, which delves into the possibilities of powerful AI and superintelligence. He is also the author of “Pandora's Brain”, a technological thriller about the emergence of the first superintelligence. More of his insights are on his blog at pandoras-brain.com.

Before becoming a writer and speaker, Chace enjoyed a 30-year career in journalism and business. He has served as a marketing executive, strategic advisor, and director in various companies. He remains active in the business community as a chair and mentor for startups. In 2000, he authored “The Internet Start-Up Bible”, a best-selling business guide published by Random House.

Chace studied philosophy at Oxford University, where he discovered that much of the science fiction he enjoyed as a child was, in essence, philosophy presented in an engaging way.

The Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit 2024 will feature Calum Chace as one of its key speakers, offering a unique opportunity to hear from one of the most insightful voices on AI and its future impact.

Digital Democracy: Digitisation - Innovation - Participation

Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit 2024 on 9 October

The leading new age conference will be held on October 9th at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre. This year’s theme, “Digital Democracy,” will explore digitalization, innovation, and participation. Topics will include participatory democracy, the digitalization of business and government, talent recruitment and inspiration in business, new communication methods in the age of artificial intelligence, and the convergence of technology and medicine to tackle previously incurable diseases.

Like last year, the conference will feature two stages: the Main Stage and the Alpha Stage, the latter focusing on startups from Cyprus and abroad. Additionally, the third event of the conference, the Cyprus Cocktail Festival, will see the city join conference delegates in an event expected to attract more than five thousand attendees.

The conference is under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency, with the Bank of Cyprus and CYTA as main sponsors.
