Clear skies with seasonal temperatures holding steady

Temperatures reach 36°C inland as winds strengthen

Newsroom

A weakening low-pressure system is giving way to weak high pressure, which will temporarily influence Cyprus' weather today.

The day will begin mostly clear, but local cloud cover is expected to increase by midday and into the afternoon, bringing isolated showers, particularly in mountainous areas and the eastern half of the island. Winds will start out variable at 3 Beaufort, later shifting to southwest to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, with stronger winds reaching up to 5 Beaufort along the southern coast. The sea will remain calm to slightly choppy. Temperatures are forecast to reach 36°C inland, 31°C on the western and northern coasts, 33°C along the other coasts, and 27°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight, cloud cover will increase, mainly in the west and north. Winds will be predominantly west to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea in the west and north will become slightly choppy, while calm to slightly choppy conditions are expected along the other coasts. Overnight temperatures will drop to 21°C inland and on the northern and southern coasts, 23°C along the other coasts, and 16°C in the higher mountains.

The forecast for Friday through Sunday is mostly clear skies, though occasional cloud cover is expected. Temperatures will dip slightly on Friday and remain stable through Sunday, aligning with seasonal averages.
