A cooler front is affecting Cyprus on Tuesday, with reports of rapid showers in the morning developing into low to moderate chances of rain and thunderstorms later in the day.

Weather officials said a low pressure system and a relatively cold front were affecting areas over Cyprus, with Tuesday cloudy skies set to persist throughout most of the week along with chances of rain and isolated thunderstorms.

Temperature lows will drop to 5 degrees Celsius in the interior, 9 along coastal regions, while it will be minus (-3) high up in the mountains.

Wednesday skies will be mostly clear with increasing cloud covers expected to appear throughout the day over parts of the island. Temperature highs will reach 16 inland, in the east and south, 14 in the north and out west, while it will be 5 high up in the mountains.

Rain chances are back in the forecast for Thursday and Friday and early parts of Saturday.
