Cyprus begins to thaw as temps rise

High pressure moves into the area, strong winds stick around, very low chances of midweek rain

A high pressure has moved into the area over Cyprus this week, with strong winds remaining over local areas and temperatures gradually on the rise.

Monday skies will remain mostly clear throughout the day, with strong winds and temperature highs reaching 17 degrees Celsius inland and in coastal areas, while it will be 7 degrees high up in the mountains.

Evening skies will be mostly clear with temperature lows dropping down to 3 degrees in the interior, around 8 in the south and east, 6 in the north and out west, while it will be zero (0) high up in the mountains where frost is expected to form overnight but also in foothill areas.

Tuesday skies will remain mostly clear with temperature highs on the rise reaching 19 degrees inland and along the coast, while it will be 10 high up in the mountains.

No change in weather pattern is expected on Wednesday except a rise in temperature, with highs reaching normal averages by midweek and noticeably surpassing levels for this time of the year.

Thursday skies will feature increasing clouds on and off with low chances of afternoon showers and thunderstorms mainly in the mountains. Friday weather is expected to be mostly clear.
