A meeting led by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, is scheduled for Monday to discuss the situation in Chlorakas, especially after recent events. The goal is to make prompt and decisive decisions on the matter, as per an official source.

According to information from Cyprus News Agency, during the meeting, which will include the Ministers of Interior, Justice, and Public Order, as well as the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare and the Chief of Police, the President of the Republic will address the urgent and definitive resolution of the ongoing issue in the community. This includes the evacuation of the building complex and a clear message that threats to public safety will not be tolerated.

The President of the Republic is also in contact and communication with the President of the Community Council, noted the same source, adding that all relevant legal decisions will be taken promptly and decisively.

It is worth recalling that around a hundred individuals of Syrian origin, residing in a building complex in Chloraka, recently carried out protests following the discontinuation of illegal electricity and water supply to the said complex. Incidents occurred, and the intervention of the Police was required to restore order.
