Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna presented on Wednesday to the members of the Council of Ministers the EU Strategic Agenda that will guide the work and priorities of the EU institutions for the next five years.
In a post on 'X', she noted that the new Agenda for 2024-2029, approved by the leaders of the EU member states in June, is our compass for the future, and is based on three pillars, a free and democratic Europe, a strong and secure Europe and a prosperous and competitive Europe.
She noted that having the new strategic agenda as our guide and with the vision for a better and more resilient EU, an EU close to its citizens, "we are working to take over the reins of the EU in January 2026, contributing to the implementation of this vision and priorities".
We are strengthening the EU, she added, "by joining forces with the EU member states, before major challenges. We are strengthening our position in the European family. Because a stronger EU means a stronger Cyprus".
