Dimitris Andronikou, commonly known as ''Dimitroui,'' tragically passed away on Tuesday night, May 28th, after battling severe injuries sustained in a targeted shooting incident. The incident occurred on April 23rd when Andronikou was shot three times while riding his motorcycle along the Palaichori-Anthoupoli road.

Andronikou had been hospitalized since the day of the attack, with his condition remaining critical until his untimely demise.

In connection with Andronikou's shooting, authorities have detained eight individuals who are currently in custody. These individuals are facing a myriad of charges, with the most severe including conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit a felony. The gravity of these charges, coupled with the risk of flight, played a pivotal role in the court's decision regarding their detention.

Moreover, there is a possibility that the charge of attempted murder may be upgraded to that of premeditated murder as the investigation progresses.

Andronikou's murder has reignited tensions within the underworld community, particularly concerning power dynamics and control over illicit activities. This tragic event follows the killing of Alexis Mavromichalis, also known as "Alexoui," last October, further exacerbating the ongoing internal strife.

Law enforcement agencies are on high alert following Andronikou's assassination, fearing potential retaliatory acts and further escalation of violence. Efforts are underway to prevent any further bloodshed and mitigate the looming threat of criminal reprisals.

From the onset of the investigation, authorities have been inclined to believe that Andronikou's murder stems from longstanding conflicts within the underworld, often revolving around disputes over protection and various illicit enterprises.

As the investigation progresses, authorities remain committed to uncovering the truth behind Andronikou's tragic demise and bringing those responsible to justice.
