In a shocking incident captured on CCTV, Amy Judge, a 26-year-old dog owner from Perth, Australia, threw her Maltese Shih Tzu, Princess, off the top of a multi-storey car park at Westfield Whitford City shopping center.
According to a Sky news report, Princess, aged 10, sustained severe injuries and had to be euthanized. The passerby who discovered the injured dog initially thought it was a car accident victim.
Amy Judge, admitting to the act, claimed she did Princess a "favor" due to alleged past abuse. This admission led to her imprisonment for 12 months and a 10-year ban on owning animals.
Her partner, Scott Frost, was fined and banned from animal ownership for three years for neglecting to seek veterinary care.
Court footage revealed an alarming scene where Judge argued with Frost, dangled Princess over the roof edge, and eventually threw her off. The magistrate described the act as "planned, deliberate, and intentional," leading to a 10-month sentence for the specific incident.
Kylie Green, RSPCA's inspector manager, termed it the "most distressing" case in her 11-year career, denouncing it as a "callous and extremely confronting display of animal cruelty."
The incident has sparked outrage and emphasizes the need for stringent measures against such acts of cruelty.
