The European Commission has announced that it has launched a call for journalism students and young journalists to participate in Youth4Regions, an EU program for budding journalists that includes a week of training in Brussels.

According to a Commission statement, this is the 7th edition of the program during which 37 journalism students and young journalists (18 to 30 years old) will be selected to travel to Brussels for a week in October 2023 to attend training courses, be mentored by and work with experienced journalists in the newsroom, and visit the EU institutions and media.

The application form and conditions of participation are available on the program's webpage until July 10th at https://youth4regions.euregionsweek.eu/

Applications are accepted in three categories (general, photojournalism and video journalism) from EU Member States, neighboring countries and candidate countries. The European Commission will cover all costs of participation in the program for the participants.

The winners will also compete for the Megalizzi - Niedzielski Prize for budding journalists, which will be awarded on 11 October 2023.

Youth4Regions is the Commission's program that helps journalism students and young journalists discover what the EU is doing in their region. More than 170 people from all over Europe have taken part in the program since its launch in 2017.
