Police in Paphos went on alert on Friday morning after an explosive device went off at a local community park.
According to Cyprus News Agency, a minor explosion occurred early Friday morning at a local park in Paphos, causing minor damages to an electrical box park and a fence around a ball field.
Police say they received information that the explosion took place around 1am on Alexandroupoleos Street, near a community park which is adjacent to two sports fields.
Officers rushed to the park where they reportedly began investigations following the low-energy blast.
Reports said the city had recently renovated and upgraded the two ball fields.
CID Paphos are investigating the incident.
