Good news for motorists. The government proposal to offer a reduction in fuel tax is expected to be approved today by the House of Representatives.
A reduction of 6 cents per litre will be applied starting on Tuesday 18 of December
Kathimerini reports that a reduction of 6 cents per litre will be applied starting from Tuesday 18 of December.
The reduction will specifically apply to gasoline fuel, diesel fuel and heating diesel. Finance Minister Georgiades had initially wanted to reduce the tax on the interest of deposits but DISY and DIKO parties showed preference to a tax reduction on fuel.
Speaking last month the Finance Minister said that fiscal stability must be preserved while social welfare measures are being implemented.
