A young man was fatally wounded and his father injured in a southern suburb of Nicosia on Wednesday, with reports saying a neighbor pulled the trigger following a parking dispute.
According to local media, a 28-year-old male was killed in Geri, a southern suburb of Nicosia, after he was shot Wednesday morning around 9am outside his home.
Reports said the victim and his 63-year-old father had a verbal argument with their neighbor, described as a 58-year-old male.
An ambulance rushed the victim to the Emergency Room at Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors on duty pronounced the son dead on arrival while the father was said to have been wounded.
Details were not immediately available to the media but local reporters said preliminary information pointed to an argument starting over a parking dispute, which escalated with one neighbor grabbing a piece of wood while the other reaching for his hunting rifle.
The 58-year-old neighbor has been described as a murder suspect and was said to have been arrested by officers in his yard while trying to get away.
