Larnaca woman fights off purse snatchers

Two men attacked a woman while walking, got away with her mobile phone

A 39-year-old female in Larnaca tried to fight off two purse snatchers who then threw her to the ground and got away with her mobile phone.

According to police, the female was walking along a road in Larnaca around 8:20pm on Tuesday when she was targeted by two male strangers. She told police that she resisted at first their attempt to take her purse but the two men pushed her to the ground and managed to get away with her phone.

The woman visited the Emergency Room at Larnaca General Hospital where she received medical attention and then released.

Police released a description based on statements made by the victim, who described the two purse snatchers as males between the ages of 20 and 25 and both of a dark complexion.

One was described as having short black hair with height ranging between 1.80 and 1.85m, while the other was described between 1.70 and 1.75m, with a slim build and wearing a white T-shirt.

CID Larnaca has taken over the case.
