LOT Polish Airlines has announced the resumption of flights to Larnaca Airport, marking a significant return after a two-year hiatus. The airline will operate four weekly flights throughout the winter season, according to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism.
During the summer of 2025, LOT plans to increase frequencies to six flights per week, underscoring the growing demand for travel between Poland and Cyprus.
In addition to LOT's flights, several other Polish airlines, including Wizzair, Ryanair, Enter Air Spolka, and Buzz Air, also serve routes from Poland to Cyprus.
The Polish market has emerged as the second-largest source of tourists to Cyprus, showing sustained growth over the past two years. In 2023, Cyprus welcomed 273,000 Polish visitors, up from 186,000 in 2022. As of June this year, Cyprus has already hosted 110,000 Polish tourists, marking a notable 21.9% increase compared to the previous year.
Recent announcements by Cyprus Airways, Easy Jet, Wizzair, and Royal Jordanian to introduce new flight programs further illustrate the robust aviation activity connecting Cyprus with major European cities.
"The decision by LOT Polish Airlines to resume flight operations to Larnaca throughout the year, following a two-year hiatus, is indeed heartening," stated Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis. "Aviation connectivity is undoubtedly crucial for the seamless operation of any destination, especially for an island destination like Cyprus."
Koumis emphasized ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and airport management, to continually enhance Cyprus' air connectivity.
"We are pleased not only by LOT's decision to operate four weekly flights, particularly during the winter season, but also by every airline's commitment to expanding their routes," Koumis added.
LOT's renewed commitment is expected to further strengthen cultural and economic ties between Poland and Cyprus, offering travelers more options and convenience.
