President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović is set to make a historic visit to Cyprus from June 6-8, marking the first official visit by a Montenegrin president to the country.
According to Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis, President Milatović, accompanied by the First Lady, will arrive on Thursday morning. He will be officially welcomed by President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides. The two leaders will hold a private meeting, followed by extended talks between delegations from both countries.
Discussions will cover bilateral relations, the Cyprus issue, regional and international developments, and Montenegro's EU accession process. The presidents will make statements to the press before attending an official lunch hosted by President Christodoulides and First Lady Philippa Karsera Christodoulides.
In the afternoon, President Milatović will meet with House of Representatives President Annita Demetriou and visit Nicosia City Hall for a meeting with the Mayor and a tour of the old town along the demarcation line.
In the evening, he will attend a dinner hosted in his honor by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
On June 7, President Milatović will meet with the Archbishop of Cyprus and then visit the town of Limassol and the village of Omodos.
The President and his delegation will depart on June 8th.
