The Department of Meteorology has issued a new yellow warning. The warning is in effect from 07:00 Wednesday morning (01/02) until 19:00 in the afternoon of the same day, according to the announcement.
As previously stated, the region will be affected by rain and isolated strong thunderstorms. It is also noted that total rainfall may exceed 55 mm per 12-hour period in some areas.
The weather forecast
Tonight will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy, with isolated showers possible, especially along the southern coast. In the higher mountains, snow or sleet may fall. Winds will be mainly westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, but moderate and occasionally initially strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, on the windward coast. The sea will become slightly rough in the east, choppy in the south, and choppy on the west and north coasts. Temperatures will fall to 4 degrees inland, 6 degrees along the south and east coasts, 12 degrees along the west and north coasts, and minus 1 degree in the higher mountains. Frost is expected to form in the mountains and locally on thelowlands.
Tomorrow's weather will be mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms, as well as snow in the mountains. Winds will be mainly northwest and locally variable, light, 3 Beaufort, before shifting to the north, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, but locally strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly choppy in the east, moderately choppy in the south, and extremely choppy on the west and north coasts. Temperatures will reach 14 degrees in the interior, west, and north coasts, 15 degrees along the rest of the coast, and 3 degrees in the higher mountains. Frost will prevail in the mountains and locally in the lowlands.
Tomorrow evening's weather will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms, primarily in the east, but will gradually clear. Snow or sleet is expected in the mountains at first. Winds will be mostly northwest, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, with gusts up to 6 Beaufort in the west. On the east coast, the sea will be slightly choppy, choppier on the south coast, and moderately choppy on the west and north coasts.
The sky will be mostly clear on Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the sky will be mostly cloudy, with isolated showers and thunderstorms, as well as snow in the mountains.
Temperatures will gradually rise to above-average levels on Thursday and Friday. A slight drop is expected on Saturday.
