Police investigate pipe bomb incident against private company’s semi trailer truck


Police are investigating a bomb incident following an explosion underneath a private company’s truck in Limassol.

According to local media, a pipe bomb that was placed underneath a semi, with police saying an explosion took place on Wednesday morning around 1:20am.

The semi-trailer truck was parked in an open area in Agios Ioannis when the low explosive device went off, causing minor damages to the vehicle.

Bomb squad officers reportedly confirmed the explosion was caused by a steel water pipe containing low explosives, while further lab tests were expected in the course of the investigation.

CID Limassol is investigating the incident.
