Allegations surface in parody account controversy

Tsouroulis reveals man allegedly behind ''Jho Low'' parody account

Newsroom

Chrysanthos Tsouroulis, CEO of DIAS Media Group and SIGMA TV, has alleged that George Petrides is behind the parody account "Jho Low o Proedrikos Vaptistikos." This claim, which surfaced on Tuesday, has ignited controversy and speculation.

According to Tsouroulis, Petrides is reportedly the brother of Andreas Petrides, a former chairman of the Radio and Television Authority and a well-known communications expert. Tsouroulis made the allegation on social media platform X, stating that Petrides was identified through a post from Pomos, Paphos.

In February, Averof Neophytou hinted at the initials GP in a post, leading to speculation that he was referring to George Pamboridis. Neophytou later clarified that GP referred to a Greek Cypriot living in America, describing him as "a genuine and successful Cypriot who cares about his country but is misled by certain local parasites."

In response to Tsouroulis' posts, the "Jho Low o Proedrikos Vaptistikos" account suggested caution when sending material, ensuring no personal information is visible. This was perceived as an attempt to muddy the waters.

Tsouroulis' revelation has sparked mixed reactions. Some are calling for the account's handler to face justice, while others are questioning the sources of the confidential ministerial documents shared by the parody account.

Adding to the intrigue, Andreas Petrides had previously commented on the parody account's interview with Politis newspaper. The digital controversy continues to unfold, with many awaiting further developments.
