A 25-year-old woman, sought on suspicion of embezzling €15,500 from a Limassol café where she was employed, faced arrest just before her scheduled departure abroad.
The complaint was filed yesterday by the 38-year-old café owner, who had hired her in January. According to the owner, the employee allegedly pilfered receipts totaling 15,500 euros over various occasions.
A court-issued warrant targeted the 25-year-old, with her information placed on a watchlist. She was apprehended at Larnaca airport yesterday, where she was preparing to travel overseas.
She now remains in custody, undergoing questioning, and has raised various claims that are under investigation.
