For those of you old enough to remember the Grey Poupon mustard commercials, Rolls Royce became synonymous with luxurious elegant picnics in the countryside, like a scene out of a Jane Austen novel, only with a Bentley rather than a horse and carriage.
But you'll no longer need to "rough it". Now with the new Rolls Royce Boat Tail edition, you'll have more than enough space for picnic supplies. Its tapered rear end comes with its own parasol for those searing hot days when you just want to nibble on canapes on your makeshift dining space. It also comes with a dual champagne cooler and an onboard fridge to store caviar and, of course, those extra bottles of Grey Poupon.
According to an article in the Robb Report, the car, which was featured at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Northern Italy last weekend, is believed to be the most expensive new car in existence.
Spanning 19 feet, it is a hand-built, customized masterpiece, with all the trappings of super luxury. And just when you don't think it can get any better, the car is fitted with a complete set of crockery by Christofle of Paris, so you won't be caught dead with paper plates and plastic cutlery. Which is just too boorish, don't you agree?
