Local media said a decomposed body thought to have belonged to an unidentified woman was found on Thursday late morning after 11am near the helipad of Limassol General.
Back in 2019, shocking reports revealed that another body found near the helipad belonged to a woman who had visited the hospital twice
State forensic pathologists Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou were called to the scene where they carried out an initial autopsy. The gender was not confirmed.
It was not immediately clear whether police were treating the discovery as a crime scene, while reports suggested the body was in an advanced stage of decay.
A similar discovery made the news in August 2019 when the decomposed body of another female was found on a summer night within the fenced area of Limassol General near the helipad.
Shocking reports at the time revealed the body belonged to a woman who had visited the hospital twice.
But additional reports suggested the woman’s body found by workers on Thursday appeared to have been left there for a number of years.
The scene has been cordoned off by police while CID Limassol are investigating the case.
