A termination letter was sent today (October 2) by the relevant State Ministry, following consultations with the Legal Service, to officially end the contract for the e-justice system due to issues that arose last January, according to Kathimerini's Hector Georgiou. According to reports, the ministry will initiate legal action against the contractor.

On September 20, the Ministry of Research issued a warning letter to the contractor, outlining the reasons for the contract's termination. These included, among other factors, the system's inability to meet user needs.

Government sources indicate that the contractor has so far received €1.25 million, while the total project cost was €6.2 million, which also included system maintenance for 10 years.

The e-justice platform initially crashed a few days after its launch in January last year. An extension was granted until summer, but the system once again became unresponsive.

Two scenarios are now being considered by the government: adapting the current i-justice system to meet the standards of e-justice or launching a new tender for a completely new system. Final decisions are expected within a month, according to information obtained by "K."
