Cypriots who recently returned from coronavirus-ridden Italy seem to have ignored instructions to remain isolated for 14 days

The Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry have expressed concern over the non-compliance by Cypriots who had recently travelled to the coronavirus pandemic-hit Italy with instructions to remain under quarantine for 14 days.

According to Kathimerini, a group of Cypriots who had recently returned to the island from Italy seem to have not followed the instructions issued by the state health services upon their arrival at Larnaca airport, choosing instead to continue performing daily social activities.

The identification of cases who have failed to comply with instructions to remain quarantined for a period of 14 days has emerged as a source of concern for the state health services.

Sources speaking to Kathimerini said they did not rule out an intensification of checks on people instructed to remain out of the public sphere for two weeks.
