Newsroom

In a recent incident reported by the Paphos Police Department, two individuals, both 26 years old, found themselves in hot water for illegal hunting within a restricted area in Mandria village. The incident occurred at 06:55 when members of the Game Service, stationed in the Elizeta area to prevent poaching, heard gunshots.

Upon investigation, the Game Service officials discovered the two hunters on the prohibited grounds. As a result, the hunters had their firearms confiscated, and each was slapped with a 3,000 euro fine.

This enforcement action underscores the commitment of local authorities to protect restricted areas and prevent poaching activities in Cyprus.
