On Monday afternoon, the Paphos Police arrested a 29-year-old man for illegal drug possession and various traffic violations.

According to the spokesperson of the Paphos Police and the responsible officer of the Paphos Traffic Police, at 6:40 PM on Monday, traffic officers were conducting checks on Orpheos Street in Paphos when they noticed a motorcycle committing a traffic violation.

The motorcyclist then committed several offenses while trying to escape, and during the escape attempt, he was seen leaving a bag in a bin.

The driver was stopped, and it was revealed that he is a 29-year-old permanent resident of Cyprus. Further examinations showed that he was driving without a license, insurance certificate, and registration, and he was found in possession of one gram of cannabis.

Later on, the bag he had abandoned was found, containing 63 packages of cannabis weighing a total of 63 grams. The 29-year-old also tested positive in a drug test he underwent.

Subsequently, he was arrested and taken into custody. The Paphos Drug Law Enforcement Unit is investigating the case.
