the welfare of animals is non-negotiable for the municipalities involved, and the shelter's standing policy is no animal killing or euthanasia
In this context, the shelter will be expanded and upgraded by 2023.
According to a statement, the welfare of animals is non-negotiable for the municipalities involved, and the shelter's standing policy is no animal killing or euthanasia.
In light of these issues, and following the Mayor of Aglantzia, Mr. Andreas Constantinou's recommendation, it was unanimously decided that until the shelter's expansion is completed, the Municipalities will sponsor the amount required from citizens for the adoption of the animal as expenses for sterilization, chip placement, and vaccines.
Furthermore, the municipalities will fund the shipping of the animals overseas in order to address overpopulation and ensure the shelter's living conditions.
The municipalities' contribution amount has been set at EUR 24 thousand.
