The health ministry announced that all 1,059 samples checked for the virus on Friday came back negative.

Friday’s samples involved 415 employees who returned to work after lockdown measures were lifted, 160 arriving passengers and repatriated persons, and over 260 people who got tested at their private initiative.

The total number of cases recorded in the Republic of Cyprus since the virus broke out on March 9 remained stable at 992.

Friday also saw two new coronavirus patients admitted into the Famagusta General Hospital, which had for several days been free of patients requiring treatment for the virus.
