This year's Oscars was not the same old boring 3-hour show we've all come to know and expect. No one, not even the actors, could have expected the shocking actions of Will Smith late into the show.
The former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Will Smith, won the best actor Academy Award on Sunday for his portrayal of Richard Williams in the film King Richard. But that wasn't the exciting part.
It all happened when Chris Rock, who was presenting an Oscar nominee at the time, made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith's wife because she had shaved her head. He said, "Jada, I love you, GI Jane 2, I can't wait to see it", referring to the movie for which Demi Moore had shaved her head in 1997.
The joke, however, angered Will Smith, who took to the stage and slapped him, to the shock of onlookers. Upon returning to his seat he is heard saying "keep my wife's name out of your f**** mouth". It is worth noting that Jada Pinker Smith has alopecia.
