Paphos gets a third bomb hoax in one week

Middle school in Agios Theodoros evacuated following prank call and bomb scare

Newsroom

There was yet another school bomb hoax in Paphos on Friday, the third this week, with police ordering the evacuation of a middle school in Agios Theodoros to conduct a search.

Police said a phone call was placed on Friday around 12 noon to the administration offices of Agios Theodoros Middle School in Paphos, warning of a bomb threat.

Law enforcement officers as well as members of the bomb squad rushed to the school, where a complete evacuation had been ordered.

Following a thorough search, with bomb technicians standing by just in case, nothing suspicious was found and the place was declared safe.

The bomb scare is the third bomb threat incident involving a school in Paphos. On Wednesday a school was evacuated in Yeroskipou and another one downtown a day later. And few days further back, multiple evacuations had been ordered in two shopping malls, a casino, and a flight that was just about ready to take off in Larnaca.
