A hunter in Pegeia was fined €12,447 for hunting protected game, illegal hunting apparatus and hunting without a license.

Local police in coordination with THERA (Hunting and Fauna services department) searched the hunter’s residence and surrounding premises in the area of Rouskies and found wire ropes used in the illegal hunting of prey, and various birds of a protected species.

He was also fined for failing to provide a valid hunting license.

The case is ongoing and will be further investigated.
