Total coronavirus cases in the Republic of Cyprus reached 942

One new coronavirus case emerged on Friday, involving a person who was tested upon repatriating to Cyprus.
The new case emerged after 2,363 samples were checked for the virus, and raised total known cases to 942.
The Health Ministry said the case’s close contacts have been located and all relevant protocols have been activated, whereby they will be required to remain in isolation for two days, after which they will be re-checked for the virus.
On Friday, three coronavirus patients were being treated at the Famagusta General Hospital, while one patient was discharged. Three more coronavirus patients were intubated at the Nicosia General Hospital ICU.
