Startling details have emerged in the damning decision of the Synod Court regarding three monks from the Avvakoum Monastery, including accusations of sexual misconduct. The monks have denied all charges, which are of a severe nature.
The Synod Court's ruling references acts of indecency, sodomy, impurity, cohabitation, the posting, use, and dissemination of obscene photographs, acts of charlatanism and fraud, misleading the faithful with false miracles, factionalism, and conspiracy.
According to reports released today, the ruling claims that the former abbot, Nektarios, “imitated the voice of Saint Porphyrios, suggesting to the faithful that the saint had reincarnated into his body.” It also alleges he “pretended to faint after performing exorcisms.”
