Government has no information about missiles sent to Israel via Cyprus and no permission was ever given, Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis said on Friday, replying to a question about Israeli press reports according to which US missiles were transported to the neighboring country.
"There is no such permission, nor do we have such information," he said, adding that “there is no evidence of any request for such a transfer being submitted by Cyprus”.
Replying to another question on the attack that was allegedly carried out this morning against Iran, the Spokesperson said that any actions that lead to an escalation of the situation in the region must be avoided. Letymbiotis added that actions should be taken to de-escalate the situation.
Cyprus, he pointed out, is trying to contribute towards the de-escalation of the crisis.
