Five individuals and their employer are facing charges for illegal employment in Paphos, according to Michael Nicolaou, Assistant Police Director of Operations in Paphos.
Nicolaou stated that members of the Labor Inspections Department discovered the illegal employment during an investigation yesterday afternoon. They found that five foreign nationals were engaged in construction work without proper declaration or permits, employed by a 36-year-old man.
All five individuals were asylum seekers.
The foreigners, aged between 19 and 28, along with the 36-year-old employer, were charged in writing and released pending summons for a later date.
